“Knowledge is power!”

I feel a little fancy and urban sitting here with a coffee and my mac, while I peek at passing people.

This is a quote by Francis Bacon, a philosopher who investigated a lot of different things, he liked acquiring new knowledge. So much in fact that it killed him. He managed to get pneumonia while investigating if freezing meat would make it last longer. My point is that he worked so hard and sacrificed so much to acquire more knowledge. He understood that if he had a lot of knowledge about a subject, he would have more power. When discussing something with someone it is an advantage to have as much knowledge about it as possible. That gives you better arguments and you will win the discussion.

Lately, I have acquired a lot of new knowledge. About myself that is. But it is still useful knowledge. I now have a much better knowledge about what makes me react the way I do. I have also found methods to help myself. And I have a lot more good arguments in my discussions with KokoMiriam. So there is truth in this quote. I have more power now than before because I have more knowledge about myself now than before.

Pretty useful it turns out. I am much calmer today than I have ever been previously when Morten was having his surgeries.

For instance, now I’m here at Starbucks writing a post about acquiring new knowledge about a new hobby I have. So there is no time to freak out. I have hacked my own brain and have taken control. I control myself without stress! I just gave my brain other tasks and it obeyed. It has not happened overnight of course, but I have worked and investigated over time. Fortunately without getting pneumonia, like our friend Francis Bacon did. I have just acquired knowledge. And hope that there can be less KokoMiriam in my brain.

Now Morten’s surgery is over and he is cheerful as always. We have mastered another obstacle! With great success!

Enjoy your loved ones today! (Every day actually)
